Every game I play eventually crashes, and sometimes the computer becomes unstable too. My graphics drivers are up to date, and I don't have unnecessary programs running in the background. I've also looked inside the case, but I'm not sure what else to check. During the crash, one half of the screen turns black while the other half still displays an image, similar to a split-screen blackout. What could be causing this, and how can I troubleshoot it?

The exact type of crash matters. Open Event Viewer in Windows, then check Windows Logs > System and Application around the time of the crash. Look for graphics-driver errors or hardware-related warnings. Event Viewer is just a built-in log that records what Windows detected; it may point toward the driver, GPU, power supply, or another component.
That kind of split-screen corruption sounds more like a graphics-card problem than a normal game crash. Check the GPU temperature while gaming, make sure the card is fully seated, and reseat its power cables. If possible, try another display cable or monitor as well. Running a graphics stress test or trying another GPU can help confirm whether the card is failing.
I wasn’t familiar with Event Viewer, but I’ll check those logs and look for errors that happen at the same time as the screen glitch.
