Getting 0xc0000142 Error on Windows 11 – Any Fixes?

I've started encountering the 0xc0000142 application error on my Windows 11 machine since Saturday, and it's becoming pretty annoying. I've tried a bunch of solutions already, including running an SFC scan (no issues found), performing both online and offline DISM restores, reinstalling the Visual C++ redistributables, and doing a Windows update repair. None of this seems to resolve the issue, and my drivers are all up to date. Interestingly, my command prompt works fine. However, I noticed these errors typically pop up only after I boot up the Xbox App, but I'm not sure if that's merely coincidence. I've even tried reinstalling, repairing, and resetting the Xbox App. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I'd really appreciate any help!

Did you make sure to run the SFC scan as an administrator? That can sometimes help with permissions issues that cause the error.

Yeah, I ran all the scans as admin.

It sounds like the Xbox App might be linked to this issue. I’ve heard others mention that the 24H2 update caused similar problems for them, especially after it was installed. Unfortunately, I think a rollback isn’t an easy fix unless you can find the right options in your settings.
