I've been working in backend development and automation for several years and have some experience with QA. Making a game has always been a dream of mine, and I think pico 8 looks like a fun platform for that kind of project. Besides pico 8, I'd love to know what other tools or paths you recommend for someone starting in game development now.

If you're feeling adventurous, you could dive into learning linear algebra and try building your own game engine using OpenGL or Vulkan. It's a challenging path, but it's super educational and gives you a deep understanding of how games work!

You should definitely check out Godot, it's a great engine that's really friendly for newcomers. Plus, it has its own scripting language which makes it easier to get into.
