GPU Won't Fit Due to CPU Cooler Blockage – What Can I Do?

I'm having trouble fitting my MSI GeForce 2070 SUPER GAMING X TRIO GPU into my B550M motherboard. The CPU cooler is blocking it, and there's a metal part on the side of the GPU preventing it from being installed properly. Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

What kind of cooler do you have? It's surprising that a card like the 2070 wouldn't fit. Usually, they aren't that wide, so there might be a solution here.

Could you share a picture? Typically, CPU coolers shouldn't be in the way, but sometimes motherboards have PCIe slots that are just too close to the CPU socket.

GigabyteGuru77: I had a similar issue with my B850 Gigabyte motherboard. I don't get why some motherboards place the PCIe slot right up against the CPU socket, especially when we'd like to use a bigger GPU!
