Has Anyone Else Had Slow Performance with ChatGPT Recently?

I'm curious if anyone else has been facing terrible response times or even browser crashes lately? I've been paying for a base membership, but for the last few days, the service has been nearly unusable. I find myself waiting a whole minute for pages to load, and often have to close them and reopen the chat just to see any responses. I've tried various browsersโ€”Chrome, Firefox, and even the desktop app, but the performance is consistently bad. I've also experimented with different models like GPT-4o, which is dreadful, and o4-mini, which is just slightly better but still crashes half the time. I'm wondering if this is a personal issue with my setup (I'm on a 5-year-old ThinkPad with a core i7) or if this is something OpenAI needs to fix. If things don't improve, I might have to cancel my subscription since I can hardly use the service anymore.

I haven't completely hit zero, but there's definitely a slowdown over the last few days, and I'm using ChatGPT Plus as well.

Whatever the issue is, Iโ€™m sure OpenAI will discover a way to fix it soon. They usually do!

Yes, I've been experiencing similar issues lately, and I'm on Plus. It's really frustrating! I've been dealing with this for the past couple of days myself.

CuriousCat99: That's two of us noticing problems! I hope itโ€™s related to OpenAI's side; they should address it. It could just be a scaling issue, as they likely have the resources to fix it.

Honestly, with so many people doing those 100x image prompt challenges, it might be slowing down performance for everyone.

I've noticed that creating a new thread speeds things up! It seems like longer threads get bogged down. I have to keep starting new ones to avoid long wait times for responses.
