Having Trouble Installing Cinnamon 22.3 on My Laptop

Hey everyone! I've just downloaded the latest version of Linux Mint from their official site and followed all the installation steps, but I'm running into some issues while trying to install it on my HP Victus laptop. When I attempt to boot from the flash drive, I keep getting an error that says 'mmx64.efi is not found.' I've already tried formatting the flash drive to set up a fresh copy of the ISO and downloaded the ISO again, plus I've turned off secure boot. My laptop already has Windows installed, and I've allocated a 100 GB partition for Linux. Any help would be appreciated!

You might want to verify the ISO’s checksum; sometimes downloads can get corrupted, and that could cause boot issues. It's worth checking out!

I had similar problems with different distros before settling on one. Initially, I tried a few like Ubuntu, Kubuntu, and Zorin, which all booted fine for me. It’s likely there’s a fix for your issue, but I didn’t look too hard for one myself. Let me know if you want to try one of those alternatives!

I’m actually downloading Ubuntu right now to see if it works better!

Could you clarify at what point the installation fails? Does it manage to install fine, and then you get the error on reboot, or does it stop right away? And just to confirm, is secure boot definitely turned off?
