I'm switching from Windows to Cachyos for the first time, but after the initial welcome screen, my monitor turns black and loses signal. I'm unsure how to fix this issue and would appreciate any help.

You might want to take a look at some migration tips. There are resources available that can help guide you through common issues. Just be cautious about using third-party repos and always verify your ISOs!

Is this issue occurring when you're trying to boot from the installation media, or does it happen after you install the OS?

CuriousCat93 -

It happens before installation. I plugged in the USB to try out the preview, but I can't get that to work either.

I had a similar problem when I tried Mint. Maybe you're selecting the wrong option when booting into the live environment? Double-check how you're starting the OS. Just a thought!

What desktop environment are you using? Also, can you confirm which GPU you have (like NVIDIA or AMD)? Knowing this might help diagnose the problem better.

CuriousCat93 -

I have an NVIDIA GPU, but I'm not sure which desktop environment I'm using.

Do you have a second monitor connected? Sometimes having multiple displays can create issues with signal detection.

No, I only have one monitor.
