I've been struggling with a frustrating problem for the past few days. My Windows 11 laptop is locked, and it keeps asking for the BitLocker recovery key. Unfortunately, I can't get into my computer at all, which is making it impossible to delete my files or access anything.
When I try to request a code to log into my Microsoft account (so I can retrieve the recovery key), it simply won't send me the code. I've attempted this multiple times without any success. I'm looking for some assistance! Is there any way to bypass the recovery key, or alternative methods to access my computer? I'm open to the possibility of doing a full system reset, even if it means losing everything on the device.

If you can't get the BitLocker key, your best bet is to do a reinstall. Check the support wiki for how to set up a bootable USB installer using another computer. When you run the install, choose to delete all partitions on your disk first. Just a heads-up, we can't assist with Microsoft account logins, so you’ll have to figure that part out on your own!
Unfortunately, if you're locked out and can't obtain the BitLocker key, there isn't a way to bypass or decrypt the encryption right now. If the data isn't critical, you might as well wipe the drive and reinstall the operating system. If the data is valuable, consider removing the drive and keeping it safe. You could wait until a better solution for decryption appears, but that could take ages—like 10 to 20 years!
I guess the data isn't super important since I mostly use it for gaming. It's just a hassle to reset everything. Thanks for the tips!

Thanks for the advice! Just to clarify, if I proceed with the reinstall, will it delete everything on my computer?
