I'm moving from consoles to PC gaming and want to build my first system with a budget of about $4,000 or less. I was given a white Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO XL case, and a friend suggested using a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, but I'm unsure which motherboard, RAM, storage, power supply, cooling, and graphics card to choose. The more research I do, the more conflicting advice I find. I'm leaning toward an AMD graphics card because current Nvidia options seem disproportionately expensive, and I don't want the GPU to consume most of the budget. What parts would make sense for a powerful, balanced build, and should I also plan for an OLED monitor?

You have plenty of room in that budget, so you can build an excellent high-end system without spending everything on the graphics card. An all-white parts list would match the case, while a black version with the same general specifications may offer better value. I’d also strongly consider budgeting for an OLED monitor, since it can make a bigger difference to the overall gaming experience than pushing every component to the absolute maximum. You could scale the parts back somewhat and still get outstanding performance.
