Help! I Can’t Open My Game After Messing with Folder Settings

I was playing Arknights: Endfield on my PC when I decided to free up some storage space. I accidentally messed with the user folder properties, and now nothing opens. I even did a local reinstallation of Windows 11, keeping my files intact, and after that, deleted the game files from my D drive and reinstalled the game. Despite all this, it still doesn't work. Can anyone help me troubleshoot?

It's worth checking if your antivirus or Windows Defender is mistakenly flagging the game. Sometimes security software can mistakenly block games as a false positive. Make sure the game is added as an exception in your antivirus settings. If you're still stuck, try running the game as an administrator to see if that makes a difference.

It sounds like you might have hit a snag with your system settings, which can sometimes lead to issues like this. Before diving too deep, check if the game’s executable file has the correct permissions. You can do this by right-clicking on the game, going to 'Properties', and then 'Security'. Make sure your user account has 'Full Control' access. Given that you also reinstalled Windows, ensure that there are no leftover files or settings from the previous installation that could be causing conflicts.

Yeah, definitely check the permissions like HardwareGuru99 said. Also, since you mentioned you updated Windows after the reset, there could be driver issues. Try updating your GPU drivers if you haven’t done that yet. Sometimes, a clean driver install can resolve game launch problems. And just to be safe, look at your antivirus settings to ensure it's not blocking the game from starting.
