Hey everyone! I'm not super tech-savvy, but I recently had to format and reinstall Windows because of a corrupted file. Now I'm facing a problem where all my files and games have a '1' next to them, and I can't seem to install anything at all. I'm wondering if there's any way to resolve this issue. Sorry if this is a basic question, but I've tried Googling and can't find a solution.

If you didn't back up your data, there's a good chance that old files are stuck there, especially if you're seeing errors when trying to download anything new. Sounds like you might have to either clean up those old files or possibly wipe everything and start fresh again.

Did you reinstall your drivers after getting Windows back up? Sometimes that's a crucial step that gets overlooked. You can think of it like starting with a new computer; some of your settings or installed programs might not have carried over so you might need to reinstall them.

It sounds like you might have a duplicate user profile or something got moved into a Windows.old folder after your reinstall. The '1' next to your files usually means there's a duplicate folder or shortcut, not that your files are broken. Try moving your files back into your main folders like Documents or Downloads. Also, make sure you're logged into the main admin account and that Windows is up to date before attempting any installs.
