Help! I Signed Up for a Free Trial with a Temp Email and Now I’m Facing a $1000 Charge

I recently signed up for a V-Ray for SketchUp trial using a temporary email and provided my credit card for the 30-day free trial. Unfortunately, I've been logged out of the Chaos.com website and can't regain access to that email since it's temporary. I saved my login details in my browser, but the password isn't working anymore, and I can't reset it.

Now I'm worried because the trial is set to auto-renew, and I fear I might get charged $1000 without even being able to use the software. Has anyone experienced something similar? What can I do to prevent this charge or get in touch with support?

In the past, I've used temp emails to get free trials without entering any card details, so this feels like a huge mistake on my part. I'm just a student who occasionally needs the software for assignments and can't justify spending up to AU$1000 a year considering all my other university expenses. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You really should've gone for the student options earlier. Temp emails can be sketchy—bet you won’t do that again! Just focus on stopping the charge before it hits your card.

Honestly, just cancel the card and let your bank deal with any issues. As for the trial, check if they have a student version—it might be more affordable and could save you a lot of hassle in the future!

Wow, this sounds rough! Definitely consider canceling that card right away. If you let your bank know what's going on, they can help you prevent any unauthorized charges. It's a tough lesson, but better safe than sorry!

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm thinking about calling my bank today to get their help.

It's crazy you used your real card with a temp email! I'd recommend contacting customer support for Chaos as well if you can—explain your situation and see if they can help you reset your account or cancel the trial. Good luck!

Yeah, looking back, I realize how silly that was. I’ll try reaching out to support as soon as possible.
