Help! I Think I Broke My External HDD

Hey everyone, I need some help. I think I messed up my Seagate external hard drive. I had a ton of photos and files stored on it. After I reinstalled Windows 11, I accidentally clicked on 'storage spaces' in the control panel, and now when I connect the external HDD, I can hear it running, but nothing shows up. It's recognized by the system, but I can't access any of my files. I'm really worried—are my files gone for good?

Yeah, when you mess with storage settings like that, it can be tricky. It sounds like your drive is being detected, which is a good sign, but if it’s showing as an internal drive, you'll probably have to allocate space before it works like normal again. If you're unsure about how to do that, I can help walk you through it!

First things first, check what your external HDD shows in Disk Management. It might need a drive letter assigned or some space allocation done manually. Let me know if you can share a screenshot; that would help a lot! Also, it's a good reminder about the importance of keeping backups for our data.
