Hey everyone! I'm in the process of building a gaming PC and could really use your thoughts on my selected components. I want to make sure everything will work well together and provide a great 1440p gaming experience, plus I might do some light video editing and streaming. My budget is around €1,280, but I'm open to stretching it if necessary.
Here's what I've picked out so far:
- **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 5 9600X
- **Motherboard:** GIGABYTE B650 EAGLE
- **GPU:** GAINWARD GeForce RTX 5070 Phantom (~€540)
- **RAM:** ADATA XPG 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 6000MHz CL36
- **SSD:** Crucial P3 Plus 1TB (PCIe 4.0)
- **PSU:** Corsair RM750e (750W, 80+ Gold)
- **Case:** Corsair 3500X
- **CPU Cooler:** ARCTIC Freezer 36 Black
- **Case Fans:** ARCTIC P12 Max 5-pack
I'm stuck between the **RTX 5070 for around €540** and the **Radeon RX 7800 XT for about €500**. I hear the RX 7800 XT has better raster performance, but I'm worried about AMD's drivers and missing out on DLSS 3. The RTX 5070 seems like it might be more future-proof with its ray tracing capabilities.
Do you think these components are solid and compatible? Would you swap anything out? Thanks a ton for your help!

Solid build! If you're focusing on 1440p, the RX 7800 XT has better rasterization for certain games, but the RTX 5070's DLSS 3 and superior ray tracing will be better for the future. I’d recommend the 5070 if you value stable drivers and future features, plus the rest of your components seem well-matched!
Don't forget about DLSS 4! That's coming out too.
If driver stability is key for you, then AMD might be the way to go.
I'd go for the RTX 5070. It has 12GB of VRAM which should handle 1440p gaming nicely with DLSS support. That could make a big difference in performance for newer titles! Overall, your build looks great!
I think you might be confusing things. The 7800 XT isn't actually performing better in rasterization against the 5070.
