Hey everyone! I've been gaming on a Ryzen 5 5600x setup with a 3060ti and 32GB of DDR4 RAM for a while, mostly enjoying 1080p gaming at 240Hz. Recently, I got really excited about upgrading my gear. I just picked up an RTX 5070, an 850W gold PSU, and a stunning OLED 1440p 240Hz monitor that has been a total game-changer. But here's the thing: I also ordered an Intel Core i7-265k without really digging into whether it was a good choice. Now I'm wondering if I should keep it or opt for an AMD setup with the 9800x3d, which I know would be a better long-term investment. I still need cooling, a motherboard, a new SSD, and maybe a case if I go with Intel. I'm looking for more stable frame rates since my old setup struggles in games like Battlefield 6. What do you guys think?

Honestly, I would suggest trying to sell that Intel CPU. It's not the best choice, and you might struggle with performance over time. You can likely sell it on Facebook Marketplace or eBay since it's still new in the box. Then, you won't have to spend even more on a motherboard for that CPU later. Use that cash to grab the 9800x3d which is a much better option for your build and future-proofing. You might take a small hit selling it, but it's worth it in the long run!

Yeah, selling it should be easy since it's sealed! Just make sure to check local listings for similar CPUs to set a fair price. Keep your head up, you'll end up with a great setup!
