Help! My Computer is Acting Up – Think It’s the Motherboard?

I'm in a bit of a bind here. My computer has been running smoothly for the past two years, but recently I've been experiencing a strange issue. Every so often, I'll hear the Windows USB disconnection sound, lose control of my keyboard, hear the reconnection sound, and then everything goes back to normal. This gets particularly annoying while I'm gaming. I've switched USB ports for the keyboard, tried a different keyboard, and even removed all external hard drives, but nothing seems to fix it.

As a next step, I attempted to update the BIOS for my MSI MAG X670E Tomahawk WiFi motherboard. I downloaded the update from the MSI site, extracted it, formatted a USB drive to FAT32, and followed the instructions to flash the BIOS. After the restart, I waited for over five minutes with no activity. The EZ Debug CPU light was red and the DRAM light was yellow. I restarted, but there was still no display, even though the fans are running. I've reseated the processor and RAM, checked for bent pins (none), and reapplied thermal paste. I managed to get past the red light after fixing the processor, but the issues returned with the RAM. Could my motherboard be fried?

First off, have you updated your keyboard drivers? You mentioned trying a different keyboard, but make sure they’re all up to date. Also, what model are you using? If it's one of those flashy ones, it could be causing some issues.

I switched keyboards but can't see anything on the screen. The lights are on, but it's just black.

This might be more of a connection issue than anything else. It could be the cable or the USB port itself that's causing the problem. Do you have an older PS/2 socket on your motherboard? If so, try a USB to PS/2 adapter or maybe find a PS/2 keyboard at a second-hand shop. If that doesn't work, it might get tricky and could turn into a costly fix.

I can't even get anything on the screen. The computer seems to be running, but there's just no display at all.
