Hey everyone! I'm having a serious issue with my Dell XPS laptop. It's been sitting unused for about a month, and now it won't turn on or off. I plugged it in, and while the charging indicator light is on, the screen remains blank and has a faint Dell logo burned onto it. When I try to power it off by holding down the power button, nothing happens, even after waiting and trying various lengths of time. I really don't know much about laptops, so any advice or guidance would be super appreciated!

What year is your XPS? Sometimes there’s a reset pinhole on the bottom that you can use with a paperclip. If there’s not one, try unplugging it, then hold the power button down for 60 seconds to see if that helps.
If you’re still having boot issues, you might want to try using the BIOS Recovery Tool. Make sure the laptop is off and unplugged, then hold Ctrl + Esc while reconnecting the power adapter. Release when the keyboard backlight comes on, and follow the prompts to recover the BIOS.
It sounds like your laptop might need some extra charging time, especially since it’s been off for so long. How long did you actually leave it plugged in before trying to use it? Giving it at least a couple of hours could help.
I think I left it plugged in for about 10 minutes before I started trying to use it.
You might want to try a hard reset. Disconnect everything, open the bottom cover if you can, and carefully disconnect the battery. Then hold the power button down for about a minute before reconnecting everything and trying to power it on.

No reset pinhole, and the screws are weird star shapes so I can’t easily open it without a special screwdriver. I’ll try holding the power button longer after I leave it plugged in for a bit.
