I opened my laptop today to find all my desktop icons stacked on top of each other. Whenever I try to move them, they either double again or end up somewhere else entirely. I did a virus scan, and there's nothing wrong, but it was working just fine yesterday. I'm really not sure what's going on.

Could it be that a key on your keyboard or the trackpad is getting pressed accidentally? Sometimes, issues like these happen due to a stuck key that you might not realize.
Try right-clicking on your desktop and select 'Refresh.' If that doesn’t work, you can also right-click and choose 'Sort by,' then pick whatever option suits you. It might help with the stacking issue.
It sounds like refreshing helped a bit! If the icons are still messy, you could try organizing them into folders. But be careful, moving too many files at once might be why you're seeing that message about 11,000+ files!
