My hard drive seems to have vanished without a trace. It was showing up as an unknown device in Device Manager, but now it's not recognized at all. I'm pretty concerned because it was quite an investment, holding 2TB of games, and I'm left using a 400GB disc drive with barely any space left. Have you tried anything yet? It's worth checking all the cables to make sure everything's connected properly. Have you looked in Disk Management to see if the drive is listed there? Also, does the drive make any noise? Knowing the type and model might help too. If nothing works, you might need to consider getting a new drive and restoring from a backup.
Regarding your games, if you bought them from Steam or another digital storefront, don’t worry—they're safe! You can always reinstall them on a new drive later. But if you have personal files stored there, like documents or photos, that's trickier unless you had a backup somewhere.
