Help! My iPhone 16PM Won’t Fully Power Off

I'm having trouble with my iPhone 16 Pro Max. When I try to power it off, it doesn't completely turn off; the icons for battery, Wi-Fi, and the clock still show at the top of the screen. Although the screen goes black, the system seems to remain on because I need to long press the power button to boot it back up. After letting it sit for a minute, it even powers on by itself. I'm currently on version 26.2.1. Does anyone know what's going on or how to fix it?

First, make sure to update your phone. Also, are you sure you're properly turning it off by sliding to power down? Has it ever been repaired or damaged?

Yes, I did the slide to power down after long pressing the button. It's a brand new phone, just bought two months ago.

You might want to try force restarting your iPhone. It can sometimes resolve weird issues like this. Check the official support site for how to do it properly!

I did that, but the screen still stayed on during the reboot, and I couldn't interact with it as if it was stuck in a reboot loop. When it came back on, the problem was still there.

If you're plugging it in after you turn it off, that could cause it to power back on. Apple devices often do that instead of just charging until you manually turn them back on.

Have you tried going to Settings > General > Shut Down? Just a heads up, if you plug your phone in when it's off, it will power back on.
