Help! My Laptop Power Button is Acting Up

I have a Huawei laptop that's relatively new, but it's been dropped a few times, and now the power button is really unreliable. Whenever I try to turn it on, it makes different clicking noises — sometimes a low click, sometimes a high one. For the last couple of days, I needed to press really hard just to get it to turn on, but it stopped working again after just a couple of hours. It won't even respond to that strong press anymore! I'm looking for any suggestions to fix it, or is it time to take it to a repair shop?

Definitely sounds like the button is broken, especially if it's working intermittently now. You might be able to open it up and see if there’s something stuck around the button, but be careful not to damage anything further! If you're not comfortable with that, heading to a repair shop is probably the safest bet.

It sounds like your power button might be failing due to the drops it's taken. It’s best to get it checked out by a professional. In the meantime, try connecting it to a charger and see if that helps it boot up. Sometimes, a broken button can lead to other power issues as well.
