Help! My Laptop Won’t Start Due to an Error

I'm having a frustrating issue with my HP Victus laptop running Windows 11. When I try to turn it on, I get an error message saying, 'Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.' It provides instructions to use a Windows installation disc to repair the system, but even after getting the installation thumb drive and following the steps, it either doesn't work or gets stuck on the loading screen. The error code I'm seeing is 0xc0000185, and it's also stating that an unexpected error has occurred. Can anyone help me figure out how to fix this? My laptop model is 16-r0073cl.

Make sure you back up your data first, just in case! If safe mode doesn’t work, you might need to check your BIOS settings or even reset them to default. But definitely do a backup before you make changes, as it can lead to data loss.

It's good that you reached out for help! Have you tried booting into safe mode? You can usually access it by repeatedly pressing F8 as your laptop starts up. It might allow you to troubleshoot or revert any changes.

Did you do anything specific just before this error popped up? Like a Windows update or a driver change? Sometimes those can trigger issues like this.
