Help! My Laptop Won’t Turn On

Hey everyone! I'm having some serious trouble with my laptop—it just won't start. When I hit the power button, the light comes on for about 10-15 seconds and then goes off again. I don't hear any fans whirring, and when I connect it to power, the light doesn't turn on at all. Currently, I'm using a 20W charger since my 65W one broke and I haven't replaced it yet. Any advice on what might be causing this?

I suggest trying a complete CMOS and power reset. You'll need to open your laptop, unplug the battery from the mainboard, and hold down the power button for about 10 seconds to clear out any residual power. After that, plug the battery back in and try turning it on. If it doesn't work, try doing the same but with a working charger instead of the battery. If it powers on then, your battery might be dead. If not, could be a motherboard issue.

It sounds like a power surge might have damaged your charger, and possibly the battery or power controller in your laptop as well. If that's the case, you'll definitely need a proper 65W charger to run it from the wall. It might be a good idea to take it to a repair shop to get it tested before buying any new parts, or you can order a new battery and return it if that’s not the issue.
