Help! My PC Boots But Won’t Post – Possible BIOS Issue?

I've got a broken Z4G4 that's been collecting dust in my basement for about a year. I realized it's pointless to keep a non-working PC, so I'm looking into fixing it. It powers on, but the fans go into overdrive, and it just won't post. I've tried a few troubleshooting steps, like replacing the RAM, swapping out the graphics card, reseating the CPU, checking all the cables, and even resetting the CMOS. If it helps, here are my specs: an Intel Core i9 10900X, an Nvidia P1000, and 64 gigabytes of RAM.

Max speed fan spin usually points to a failure in booting, which might not specifically be BIOS-related. Did you check if the CPU is properly seated and if the motherboard isn't shorting anywhere? Sometimes, it helps to take it out of the case and test it on a non-conductive surface. Also, consider testing with just one stick of RAM, as sometimes having all sticks in can confuse the system if one is faulty.

It sounds like you're on the right track with thinking it might be a BIOS issue. Since your CPU and RAM are high-end, make sure your motherboard supports everything properly. Sometimes, a simple BIOS update can fix boot problems, but if you can’t access it, consider looking for any indicator lights or beeps that might help diagnose the issue. Also, double-check your power supply; if it's not sending enough juice, that could cause issues too!

Good point! Just had a similar issue once, and it turned out my PSU wasn't delivering enough power. Might be worth checking those connections again!

I had a similar issue, and I thought it was the RAM initially but ended up being a bad motherboard. If you have a spare motherboard, it might be worth trying out to see if that fixes the boot issue. Just be sure to have your PC unplugged while you’re working on it!
