Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a tech pickle. I inherited this PC from my brother, and it's usually fine, but today when I powered it on, the screen stayed black. I've tried following some instructions from HP to force a shut down and restart, but that hasn't worked. I'm not super tech-savvy, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried checking if your monitor itself is working? If you have another screen or TV, you could plug your PC into that to see if the issue is with the monitor or the PC.
Make sure to check that both the power cable and video cable are securely plugged in. Sometimes they can get loose. If you're using HDMI, some computers have multiple HDMI ports, so try switching to a different one just in case!
Sounds frustrating! First, I'd suggest disconnecting the power completely. After that, hold down the power button for about 30 seconds, then reconnect the power and try starting it again. This can help reset things!
