Help! My PC Won’t Boot After a BIOS Update Attempt

I recently acquired a prebuilt ABS Cyclone Aqua from a friend. After installing a new SSD and setting up Windows using a flash drive, I found I needed a WiFi driver. The PC was functioning well until I downloaded the WiFi driver and the latest MSI BIOS update onto the same flash drive, which already had the Windows installation media on it. After plugging the flash drive in to perform the BIOS update, the PC powers on, but there's no display. We've tried removing the CMOS battery, resetting the SSD, and jumping the JBAT1 pins, but nothing seems to work. The motherboard is a Pro B760m VC WiFi Bulk, the CPU is an i5-14400F, and the GPU is a Gigabyte 4070, though I can't confirm which BIOS version it originally had.

Did you actually run the installation for the BIOS update after flashing it? Sometimes it can be a two-step process where you need to apply the update back in the BIOS settings.

Yes, we did run the installation process, and for a while, everything was working fine.

If you can access UEFI/BIOS, make sure the build date reflects the update. You should set everything to optimized defaults, check that the date and time are correct, and verify the boot order. Secure Boot and TPM settings should generally be enabled, but it's good to double-check.

The main issue is that I can’t see anything on the display, so I can't check what’s wrong.

Have you considered using the USB port that's meant for flashing the BIOS? It works even when there's no display. Just load the BIOS file onto a USB stick, plug it into the designated port, and hit the specific button to initiate the flash process.

Try disconnecting all non-essential hardware and reboot using the onboard graphics. Sometimes it's just a matter of simplifying the setup to get it to boot correctly.
