Help! My PC won’t boot and the CPU light is on!

I just built a new PC and I'm having trouble getting it to start. Specifically, the BIOS won't load, and there's a yellow CPU light on my Gigabyte Eagle Z790 AX motherboard. I suspected it might need a BIOS update to work with my Intel i5 14600KF CPU, so I attempted a flash update. However, while updating, it shut off unexpectedly, turned back on for a short period, and then shut off again completely. It seems like the BIOS update might have failed since I named the file GIGABYTE.bin correctly. I've also tried reseating my RAM (the Patriot Viper Venom DDR5 CL36) but that didn't help either. I plan to test each RAM stick individually in the A2 slot next. Any advice you have would be super appreciated!

Have you powered it off completely and tried booting again since the update? What’s the status of the CPU during this time—did you confirm it’s seated correctly? Also, are you trying to update the BIOS with the CPU installed? If you haven’t already, check the Gigabyte subreddit; they might have users who are more familiar with Q Flash and can offer specific tips.

It sounds like you're really frustrated, and it’s understandable! When you first powered on the PC, what exactly happened? Did the fans spin, or did anything show up on the monitor? Gathering more details can really help others assist you better. If you can, share pictures—sometimes visual clues can point out issues better than words.

I get it, building a PC can be a real headache! But hang in there, you’re not alone. Have you done any troubleshooting like testing with a different power supply or trying to boot with just the essentials? That could help narrow down the problem. Remember, patience is key with these builds!
