Help! My PC Won’t Recognize My Wireless Keyboard and Mouse

I've been using a wireless keyboard and mouse combo from Best Buy that operates with a 2.4GHz dongle. There's no pairing or on/off switch, so it was just plug and play. I had it connected to my regular PC for a couple of months without any issues. However, when I switched it to my gaming PC, it didn't get recognized at all, no matter which USB port I tried. I've checked the Device Manager for conflicts and replaced the batteries, but nothing worked.

When I switched the combo back to my regular PC, it also wouldn't recognize it anymore! I even tried a different 2.4GHz wireless mouse, and that one worked instantly. I thought maybe there was something wrong with the original combo, so I bought a new one from Best Buy, but surprise, it also doesn't work! Both PCs are running Windows 11. Is there a setting in Windows or in the USB configuration that's preventing it from being recognized? I really need help with this!

Have you checked the Device Manager? When you plug the dongle in, does your system even recognize anything has been connected? That could give us a clue.

Nope, it doesn't show up. With my other wireless mouse, I hear the Windows notification sound when it's plugged in, but with this keyboard and mouse, nothing happens.

What keyboard and mouse combo did you get? Might help pinpoint the issue. It's weird that it worked for a while and then suddenly stopped!

It's the Best Buy Essentials full-size wireless keyboard and mouse combo, model # BE-WLKBMB2B.

Sounds frustrating! Sometimes BIOS or USB settings can interfere. You might want to check if there's an option to enable legacy USB support in the BIOS settings. It could help your devices be recognized.
