Help! My phone suddenly shut down and won't turn back on!

I was just browsing on Google when my phone turned off unexpectedly. Now, I can't power it back on, even after holding the power button. I'm worried about telling my dad since he got upset the last time something went wrong with my devices. When I was younger, I accidentally got my phone wet when I answered it in the shower, and it had water damage. It worked fine for about six months after that until now. I'm really anxious about this situation!

First off, no need to panic! Have you tried plugging it in to see if the battery died? Hold the power button for about 60 seconds while it's charging and see if it reacts at all.
