Help! My School Project Disappeared from Google Drive

I worked on a research paper as a school project along with my friends Jacob and Matthew over the last month. Unfortunately, during the final week when we were supposed to submit it, I got sick (and so did Jacob). Matthew was the only one who was able to go to school that week. When it came time to submit the project on Friday, I discovered that I had an F, which was a huge shock. I thought I could easily submit the project from home, but when I checked Google Drive, I couldn't find it. All my other files are there, but this specific project is completely missing. I searched the bin and my entire drive, and still nothing. I asked Jacob, who also has an F, if he'd seen it, but he hasn't. Matthew isn't responding to my messages—I need to figure this out because my grade is currently at 57%, and I really don't want to fail. I originally created the document, so I'm worried someone else might have deleted it. The only people who had access were Matthew, Jacob, my teacher, and myself. My teacher hasn't been supportive and has treated us unfairly compared to other students, so I'm concerned she might have done something. Any advice on what to do?

Try opening the Details view on your Google Drive folder and check the Activity tab. It should show you any actions taken on your files, including who moved or deleted it. You can find more info in this Google support article: (link).

I checked there, and it shows that I deleted it, but that’s impossible! I was in bed the whole day!
