I just got back from vacation and noticed that my secondary Samsung 860 EVO M.2 SATA drive isn't showing up in either BIOS or Windows. I checked both the BIOS settings and the device manager, but it's completely missing. I've tried a few things to fix the issue: I updated the BIOS, reseated and cleaned the SSD, and even uninstalled a recent Windows update. Everything was fine before I left, and I'm worried because all my work files are on that drive. Does anyone have any suggestions to recover the drive, or is it likely gone for good?

You might want to try changing the SATA and power cables just to rule those out. I've seen issues where faulty cables can prevent drives from being detected.
If it's in one of the M.2 slots, those don’t use traditional SATA cables. It might not be a bad idea to check if the slot is working by trying another M.2 drive, if you have one. Sometimes, the slots can malfunction.
