I'm having a major issue with my Windows 10 computer where the User Account Control (UAC) seems to be completely broken. It won't let me access anything that requires admin rights. I've tried running the SFC and DISM scans, and I've logged in as a local admin to try and change settings, but I hit an error there too. I thought about resetting or restoring the system, but now my recently reset password is being claimed as wrong. Is there anything else I can try to fix my computer?

Could you give us a bit more detail about what 'off limits' means? Are you seeing any UAC prompts at all? Or does it just block you without asking for a password? Knowing that can really help in figuring this out!
Error messages are key to understanding your issue. Can you confirm if you see messages like 'access denied' or 'Windows cannot access the specified device or file'? If that's the case, it sounds like a permissions issue. Also, if your control panel just freezes when trying to change settings, that definitely hints at something bigger going on.
