Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a bind and could really use some advice. I bought one of those cheap USB drives online to store a ton of concert videos and childhood memories, and at first, it worked perfectly. But now, when I try to open it, most of my videos are lagging and glitchy. I've even transferred a couple to my laptop, and the problem persists there too. The USB is formatted with exFAT and I've tried it on both a Lenovo ThinkPad and a 2019 MacBook Pro, but it's definitely the USB at fault. These videos are really special to me, and I'm looking for any solutions or help you all can offer!

I've been in a similar situation before. First things first, try to copy everything off that USB as quickly as possible! You can use recovery software like Recuva for Windows or PhotoRec/TestDisk for Mac. If those don’t work, it might be time to consult a data recovery specialist. Just a heads up, cheap drives tend to fail frequently, so keep that in mind!

Thanks for the tip! Should I move everything to another flash drive before running Recuva?
