Help! My Windows 11 isn’t recognizing USB for driver installation

I tried to reinstall my AMD graphics drivers using DDU but forgot to have the AMD chipset driver ready on my PC. Now I've lost all drivers, including WiFi and the chipset. I downloaded the drivers onto an external USB, but my PC won't recognize it because I'm missing the USB 3.x drivers. I'm considering buying a SATA to USB adapter to directly transfer the files from my laptop to my hard drive, but I'm wondering if there are other solutions I can try first.

Windows 11 should have USB 3 drivers automatically. If your USB isn’t being recognized at all, it’s likely an issue with the USB itself rather than your drivers. Have you tried using a different USB stick? If you have an Android phone, you could try using it as a hotspot via USB, which might help you connect to the Internet and download the drivers directly.

I tested the USB stick on my laptop and it works fine there. Unfortunately, I can't use a hotspot since I don't have an Android phone.

Check which USB ports you're using. If your keyboard and mouse are also USB, try unplugging the keyboard and using that port for your USB stick instead. Not all USB ports are created equal; some might work without drivers while others may not. If that doesn’t work, you could boot from a Linux live CD to access your Windows drive and copy the files over.

Exactly! Some USB ports might not be recognized unless the specific drivers are installed. Switching ports can sometimes solve the issue. It's worth giving that a shot before investing in new hardware.

I’ve already tried every USB port on the PC, including those my keyboard and mouse are connected to, but nothing shows up in File Explorer.
