I have a wired in-ear monitor, and the left side just stopped working out of nowhere. I've been using it for about 1.5 years. I'm wondering what could be causing the issue and whether I should try to fix it or just buy a new one.

Since you've had them for 1.5 years, it's possible the drivers could have failed. Before buying a new set, you could try cleaning the connectors and checking if the audio source is working properly. Sometimes it's not the IEM but the device you are plugging it into. If everything checks out and it's still not working, maybe a new pair would be the easier route.
It could be a few things causing the left side to stop working. Sometimes the cable might be damaged, or there could be a loose connection. You can try checking the cable for any visible signs of wear or damage. If you're comfortable with it, you might open it up and check the connections inside, but just make sure to be careful not to break anything further! If it's a really old model, it might be more cost-effective to just get a new one instead of repairing.
