Help Needed: Building a Custom Game Console with ChimeraOS

I'm working on creating a custom game console that will run ChimeraOS, and I've hit a couple of snags. Here's what I have hardware-wise: an i3-8100T CPU, an RX 5500 XT GPU, an HP ProDesk 600 G3 motherboard, a 500W SFX power supply, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 500GB M.2 NVME SSD.
First issue: I can't seem to find a 2280 M.2 slot on my motherboard. Would using a PCIe adapter for my M.2 SSD solve this? Also, can I boot from this setup using the old HP BIOS? Will I be able to achieve my SSD's maximum speeds of around 2500MB/s?
Second issue: There's no standard 24-pin power connector on this motherboard either, and since I don't have the official HP ProDesk power supply, I'm wondering if there are adapters available for this or any mods that would work?

It sounds like you've got a tricky setup! That HP ProDesk motherboard is actually designed for 6th and 7th generation Intel CPUs, so it won't support your 8th gen i3. Honestly, Iโd recommend getting a standard H310 chipset motherboard instead, which would make your life a lot easier and they're pretty cheap! Plus, itโll accommodate all your components without the headaches that come with proprietary boards.

Totally understand the struggle with proprietary hardware! While a PCIe adapter might allow you to use your M.2 SSD, thereโs no guarantee your old HP BIOS will support booting from it, and you might not get the full speeds either. It might be best to rethink the motherboard to something more standard.
