Hey everyone! I'm building my very first gaming PC and could use a second opinion on the specs before I finalize my decisions. I'm looking for a setup that can handle large games with heavy mods, as well as work with Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects for some projects. My current desktop has been running well for about 9 years, so I feel it's time for an upgrade. Here's what I've got so far:

Honestly, that build seems underwhelming for your budget. The Intel 12900KF is dated for 2021! You could get a faster system for less. I recommend switching to the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D for better performance. Check out this list I made with some solid parts that are actually worth the investment.

For under $4000, I built a setup with a 9850X3D, 32GB RAM, and a 5080 graphics card alongside a crazy nice 4K monitor! You can absolutely do better than your proposed build without breaking the bank!
There's no way you should go with an Intel 12900KF and that graphics card on a $4000 budget. You should really check out the Ryzen 9950X3D processor paired with an X870 board and a more powerful card like the 5090. It’s just a much better value overall!

You're looking at an overkill power supply and a CPU that's multiple generations old. Also, consider a faster SSD! The Crucial T710 is only slightly more in price compared to the P310 but will blow it out of the water in speed.

Seriously, pay close attention to the feedback here. You need to educate yourself about PC builds before diving in. Ryzen is a solid choice; I've built a couple using it and have had great success. The new AM5 platform offers amazing performance. People are mentioning the 9800X3D for a reason—it’s fantastic!
