I'm using an MSI GF66 Katana and recently ran a firmware update that was pending in my Windows updates. After the update, my laptop started making a loud noise and then I got a secure boot violation message. I tried resetting the BIOS to defaults, and the only way to temporarily fix the issue was to disable secure boot, but I would prefer to keep it enabled. When I re-enabled secure boot, I encountered the same error again. I found a message in my system logs stating that 'Updated Secure Boot certificates are available on this device but have not yet been applied to the firmware.' I don't really understand what that means, and a link provided directed me to a general Microsoft page about secure boot, which didn't help much. I'm considering trying the next Windows preview update or looking for a BIOS update specific to my laptop model. Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

Have you installed the latest updates? I read that the February Windows update caused some problems with boot devices. It might be worth checking if you missed that update and trying to install it first.
Just a heads up, updating the BIOS can sometimes lead to such issues. If you're seeing that message about secure boot certificates, you might need to manually apply those updates in your BIOS settings to get secure boot working again. Check your BIOS for an option to apply those certificates after you enable secure boot.
