High CPU Usage on New Windows 11 Installation with AMD A10

I've recently installed Windows 11 on a system with an AMD A10 CPU (R8, 4 cores + 8 threads) and 8GB of RAM. Even when I'm not running anything intensive, the CPU usage is at 100%, and I'm noticing significant lag. The new SSD is freshly installed, but it seems I'm using around 6GB of RAM with nothing actively running. I'm not sure why my computer is struggling with basic tasks like web browsing. I've already run a malware scan with Malwarebytes, and the OS installation is pretty fresh as well. Any ideas on what might be causing this high CPU usage?

It's possible that after upgrading to Windows 11, your system is still going through additional updates, which can hog resources. Given the age of the CPU, that could really drain CPU usage. Maybe give it some time and see if it stabilizes after the updates finish.

It's been a few weeks since I installed it, so I thought the updates would be done by now.

First, try checking the Task Manager to see which processes are using up CPU resources the most. Sorting by the CPU column can help you identify the culprit. If you can, take a screenshot of the Task Manager and share it here for better insights!

I’m surprised you got an AMD A10 running Windows 11! That CPU is quite outdated and might not be fully supported. Make sure you have all the drivers installed correctly by checking the Device Manager, as outdated drivers can also cause high CPU usage. It might help your performance a bit.
