High ping keeps returning on my PC while Xbox works fine

My internet connection has high ping only on my PC, while online games and other services work normally on my Xbox using the same network. I previously fixed the issue by flushing DNS and resetting the network and IP settings through Command Prompt, but the problem came back a few days later. I'd rather avoid resetting my entire PC. What else should I check?

What exactly did you do when it seemed fixed last time? Repeating the same steps may help confirm whether the issue is related to DNS or Windows network settings.

I flushed the DNS cache and reset the network and IP settings through Command Prompt. It worked temporarily, but the high ping returned a few days later.

Are you connecting the PC over Wi-Fi or Ethernet? If it’s Wi-Fi, test with a wired connection if possible. Also compare the ping using another device in the same location, since interference or a weak PC adapter could be the cause.

Since the Xbox is fine on the same connection, the problem is probably limited to the PC rather than your internet service. Try reinstalling or updating the affected game, launcher, or network-related software first.

I’ll try reinstalling the software and see whether that makes a difference.
