I'm a solo, bootstrapped founder and received $1,000 in AWS credits through Amazon Activate after creating an account and submitting my company details. I haven't raised funding yet. Are there legitimate ways to qualify for a larger Activate credit grant? I've heard that bootstrapped startups in India may be eligible for up to $5,000, possibly through programs such as DPIIT registration. I'd appreciate suggestions on eligibility, application routes, or other cost-effective cloud options.

Cloud resellers and startup-focused providers sometimes have access to partner or accelerator offers. Make sure any offer is from a legitimate provider, clearly explains the eligibility rules, and doesn’t require handing over unnecessary account access or sensitive information.
It’s also worth applying to comparable programs from other cloud providers. Google Cloud and Microsoft may offer startup credits, although their larger grants commonly require stronger verification, accelerator participation, or investor backing. Separately, review resource sizing, idle development services, storage, and GPU usage, since reducing monthly spend can stretch the existing AWS credits much further.
The larger AWS credit tiers are often connected to accelerators, investors, or other recognized startup programs. If you become an AWS Partner, partner benefits may include credits, although the membership costs and requirements should be compared carefully with the value you receive.
So becoming an AWS Partner is one possible route, but I’ll need to check whether the membership makes financial sense for a small bootstrapped company.

I applied to Google but they said there wasn’t enough information to verify the startup. I’ll also check Microsoft and review our AWS usage for unnecessary costs.
