I'm connecting a USB flash drive to my Samsung Galaxy S23, but the phone only shows an option to charge instead of letting me access the drive or transfer pictures. What settings or steps do I need to use to import photos from the USB drive?

USB debugging isn’t needed for this. Make sure you’re using a USB-C OTG adapter or a flash drive designed for USB-C, then connect it and open the notification that says USB options. You can also check the drive in the Samsung My Files app under Storage locations or USB storage. If it still only charges, try another adapter or unlock the phone before connecting it; some cables support charging but not data transfer.

Developer Options won’t usually fix this—the important part is having a proper data-capable OTG adapter. Once the drive is detected, My Files should let you copy the pictures to Internal storage.
