How can I add a local user in Windows 11 without using a Microsoft account?

I'm setting up a new Windows 11 computer and already have an administrator account. I want to create additional local users for the PC, but I'd prefer not to sign them in with Microsoft accounts or create separate online accounts. What's the easiest way to do this?

You can do it from an elevated Terminal or Command Prompt. Run `net user username /add`, replacing `username` with the account name you want. If the account also needs administrator access, run `net localgroup administrators username /add` afterward. Only add it to the Administrators group if that level of access is actually needed.

On Windows 11 Pro, search for **Computer Management**, open **Local Users and Groups**, right-click the **Users** folder, and select **New User**. You can also open `lusrmgr.msc` directly with Win+R and create the account there.

Press Win+R, enter `netplwiz`, and press Enter. Choose **Add**, then select the option to sign in without a Microsoft account and choose **Local account**. From there, enter the new username and password.
