Hey everyone! I had a super cool gamer username for my email when I was younger, and I thought I switched it back to my real name, but my boss just told me that the old fake name still shows up when he emails me. I've worked in professional environments before, so it's kind of nerve-wracking to think this is still happening. I'm using Gmail, and I've had this email address for years. Can anyone help me figure out how to change the name that appears?

If you're using Gmail, unfortunately, they don’t let you change your username directly. However, you can easily update your display name, and that's what most people see. Just follow the steps TechGuru99 mentioned and it should be fine. No need to create a new account!
It sounds like you're talking about your display name in Gmail. To change it, go to Gmail.com in your web browser and log in. Click on the gear icon in the top right corner, then select 'See all settings.' From there, head to 'Accounts and Import,' scroll down to 'Send mail as,' and click 'Edit info' to update your name. That should do the trick!
If you ever need to reference your old gamer name for some reason, just be aware that your display name can change, but your email address will stay the same. Also, the email handle usually refers to the part before the @ symbol. So no need to change that, just adjust the name that gets displayed.
