I accidentally spilled some sauce into my iPhone speakers and now they're not functioning properly. Is there a safe way to clean them out? Just to clarify, I already tried putting a little water in the speakers and scrubbing them with a toothbrush. They seem to be about 90% better, but I'm worried I didn't fix them completely.

I had a similar problem once while cooking. I just used a soft-bristled toothbrush to gently clean the area and it worked wonders for me! The alcohol trick is also solid depending on how thick the sauce is.
I'm no expert, but here's what I would suggest: first, turn off your phone completely. Then, you could try letting it soak in warm, soapy water for about 5-10 minutes, using a toothbrush to gently scrub the area. Just make sure it dries thoroughly before you turn it back on. You might want to check online for some tips too.
Are you serious about soaking the whole phone? That sounds risky!
I thought you were joking with that suggestion!
A common method is to turn off your phone and use a Q-tip soaked in 90% isopropyl alcohol to clean around the speakers. Let it dry completely before powering it back on and testing it out.
I’ve tried that before, but it didn’t work for me—maybe I didn't do it right?
If it was me, I’d just keep wetting it gently, assuming your phone can handle water in that area. Then vacuum it out a few times to get rid of any residue.
Even waterproof phones can have issues; water can still get into the charging port and cause problems.
It really depends on the sauce! But if it’s that chilli dip from KFC, it can be a bit sticky. Best to find a local phone repair shop; they’ve probably dealt with similar issues before.

My sauce was a lot thinner, and I’ve already done the Q-tip thing. Might give the brush method a shot!
