Hey everyone! I've been having a frustrating issue where I accidentally hit the Windows key plus Tab while gaming, which creates a new desktop and messes up my game. It's especially annoying since it tends to happen during critical moments. I've even tried using PowerToys, but that didn't help. Any suggestions on how I can completely disable this shortcut? Thanks!

Some keyboards have an option to lock the Windows key, which might also disable the Win+Tab shortcut. Check your keyboard settings and see if yours has that feature!

GamerDude07: Yeah, I just discovered mine has that too! It saved me from a lot of accidental key presses, especially during intense gameplay.

Try using the Function key (Fn) along with the Windows key. Some keyboards have a toggle feature that might help you disable the key combinations like Win+Tab when gaming. Just give it a shot!

If you use Logitech or Razer, their software can disable the Windows key during gaming. Check their options for disabling the key altogether while you play. Alternatively, you might consider using AutoHotkey to write a script that can disable specific shortcuts only when you're gaming. Just a thought!

You can turn off Windows key shortcuts through the Group Policy Editor if you have Windows Pro or Enterprise. Just open it, navigate to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > File Explorer, and enable โ€˜Turn off Windows+X hotkeys.โ€™ If that doesn't work, you can use the Registry Editor to create a DWORD called NoWinKeys and set it to 1. Just make sure to restart your PC afterward!

An old trick I used was to pop off the Windows key entirely during gameplay. It sounds silly, but it worked for me! Just be sure to put it back after you're done.
