How can I earn money from web development before turning 18?

I'm under 18 and interested in making money with web development. What are realistic ways to find work, build experience, and handle clients or payments at my age? I'd appreciate advice from anyone who has tried this or has suggestions for getting started.

You can also create a small product of your own, such as an online store or a useful web service. Building a complete project with modern tools and a content system can teach you more than only making static sites, and it might eventually generate income directly.

Age matters less than whether you can make something useful. Build a few solid projects, create a simple portfolio, and focus on solving problems that people are willing to pay for.

Look for local businesses with outdated or poorly designed websites. Show them specific improvements, provide a couple of example designs, and offer to build or update the site for a reasonable price.

Start with a small project for a friend or family member, even if you do it for free. It gives you practice, something to show future clients, and a testimonial if theyโre happy with the result.

Remember that minors may not be able to sign contracts or open payment-processing and business accounts independently. A parent or guardian may need to handle the legal and banking side while you focus on development and communicating with clients.
