One of our virtual machines is running low on free space on Drive C:. I want to extend the volume, but a recovery partition is located directly after it. The disk is configured as a Dynamic Disk, and I haven't been able to remove the recovery partition through the usual tools. What is the safest way to disable and delete the recovery partition, then extend Drive C:?

For a server or VM with a proper backup and another recovery plan, the recovery partition usually isn't essential. Disable WinRE first, delete the partition with the `override` option, and then resize the C: volume. Be very careful to select the correct disk and partition.
Take a snapshot or verified backup first. Check whether Windows Recovery Environment is using the partition with `reagentc /info`. If it is enabled, run `reagentc /disable` before removing the partition.
