My girlfriend accidentally ended the "explorer.exe" process on her computer, and now the Task Manager won't open. I've already suggested rebooting the PC, and we've tried using the Windows + R shortcut or Command Prompt, but nothing related to Windows seems to work. I'm looking for any helpful solutions here to get her computer back to normal.

Try going into Safe Mode. If you can't find the files there, it might be that they were deleted completely. If this is a work laptop, be cautious with any adjustments you make.
Another option is to restart the computer and, before Windows loads, repeatedly turn off the power. On the third try, it should boot into recovery mode. This might allow you to access startup repair or system restore points that could help fix the problem.
Since you've mentioned that Task Manager just won't open, you might want to try holding down the power button to force a shutdown. Then unplug the PC and hold the power button again to discharge any remaining power before plugging it back in.
Have you tried the Ctrl + Alt + Del method? From there, select Task Manager and then run a new task by typing "explorer.exe". If that doesn’t work, you might need to forcibly reset your PC by interrupting the boot process a few times to trigger recovery options.
If restarting hasn't worked, it's possible she might have deleted the explorer.exe instead of just stopping it. In that case, the best solution could be to reinstall Windows. You might have an option to do a repair, but you'll need installation media for that.
