How Can I Fix Low Frame Rates and Stuttering in Games?

Hey everyone! I'm building my first PC and I've had it for a couple of years, but I've been struggling with a frustratingly low frame rate and stuttering graphics, especially when trying to play games like Elden Ring. I initially built my PC with compatible parts using PC Builder, but I ended up with a less capable motherboard after an error at the store. I think my issues might be due to a CPU bottleneck since my GPU and RAM seem more than adequate. I've verified the drivers, checked for malware, and updated everything possible. Any advice on getting my games to run smoothly would be greatly appreciated! Here are my specs:

- CPU: Intel Core i7-10700K Comet Lake 3.8GHz Eight-Core LGA 1200
- GPU: Nvidia 4060Ti
- Motherboard: ASUS Z490-A PRIME Intel LGA 1200 ATX

Thanks in advance for any help!

It sounds like your system should be handling Elden Ring just fine! First off, how are your temperatures while gaming? You might want to check if your CPU or GPU is overheating. Have you tried using DDU to uninstall your NVIDIA driver before reinstalling the latest version? Also, make sure XMP is enabled for your RAM. How much RAM do you have by the way? Are you facing issues only in games, or is it across your system? Reinstalling the games could also help if you haven't tried that yet.

I usually play games like REPO and they run fine, but Elden Ring and a few others really struggle. My CPU temp is under 54 degrees, and I've got a 1TB SSD plus a 500GB SATA drive. So far, it seems to be just game-related issues. I actually don't know what DDU or XMP are, though!
